Debra Malbin

Debra Malbin, founder and president of Debra Malbin Associates – a leading executive search firm in the fashion industry - has vast experience and knowledge in the recruitment, placement and training of talented individuals. In addition to her recruitment business, she is on the Board of Directors of the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund, where she chairs the Intern and Scholarship programs. In that capacity, she has met and mentored scores of college students seeking entry positions to the fashion industry.

Over the past decade DMA has placed Presidents, Senior and Middle Managers at manufacturing, retailing and publishing firms. DMA covers a broad spectrum of disciplines ranging from sales, product development, design and merchandising to sourcing, licensing and marketing. Her prior experience at both the retail and wholesale levels provide a solid foundation for understanding the needs and requirements of both corporate and entrepreneurial clients, as well as candidates of all levels.

Debra’s involvement with the YMA Fashion Scholarship Fund has opened a new venue for her to help and guide college students into the fashion industry. She has lectured extensively at several college campuses and has met with their faculty, placement and career officers. Together with her recruitment knowledge, she is uniquely situated to advise and mentor today’s graduates.

Prior to forming DMA, Debra, recognized for her global focus on both creative and bottom-line concerns, served as President of two divisions of Oxford Industries following several years at Bloomingdale’s where she held executive positions in both men’s wear and home furnishings.
